If you are agency-bound, props are generally not encouraged.
Clothing Tips
- 2-4 outfits: a mix of formal and informal.
- Guys: Suit/Jacket/Tie, slacks, nice jeans, polos
- Gals: evening dress, blazers, nice jeans, sundresses
- Age appropriate
- Avoid neon & fluorescents
- Avoid logos
- Avoid baggy clothing; tight is right
- When in doubt, ask!
Tips & Make-up
Tips:
- Get a good night's sleep.
- Drink lots of water the day of and before!
- Avoid last-minute spray tans!
Make-up:
- Wear foundation and light makeup (natural lipstick, blush, if wearing eyelashes, make sure they are natural-looking).
- Consider mascara to showcase the eyes.
- Eyebrows should be in good shape (waxed or tweezed).
- Hair is camera-ready.
For Agencies
- Nails are often natural/nude color & average length.
- They ask for minimal jewelry.
Shoot Duration
- Arrive 15 minutes early.
- Find me; look right at me!
- Come ready to shoot.
Cell Phones
Leave them in your bag or car, you too parents! Cell phones are a distraction and they often break the rhythm. Let's work together to focus our attention on you!
