Posing

Here are some great videos if you are new to posing. Those who watch these videos at least 3 times and practice for a week have great photoshoots!

Portfolio building? Additional videos to consider:

If you are agency-bound, props are generally not encouraged.

Clothing Tips

  • 2-4 outfits: a mix of formal and informal.
  • Guys: Suit/Jacket/Tie, slacks, nice jeans, polos
  • Gals: evening dress, blazers, nice jeans, sundresses
  • Age appropriate
  • Avoid neon & fluorescents
  • Avoid logos
  • Avoid baggy clothing; tight is right
  • When in doubt, ask!

Tips & Make-up

Tips:

  • Get a good night's sleep.
  • Drink lots of water the day of and before!
  • Avoid last-minute spray tans!

Make-up:

  • Wear foundation and light makeup (natural lipstick, blush, if wearing eyelashes, make sure they are natural-looking).
  • Consider mascara to showcase the eyes.
  • Eyebrows should be in good shape (waxed or tweezed).
  • Hair is camera-ready.

For Agencies

  • Nails are often natural/nude color & average length.
  • They ask for minimal jewelry.

Cell Phones

Leave them in your bag or car, you too parents! Cell phones are a distraction and they often break the rhythm. Let's work together to focus our attention on you!
